Thanks Lawrence! By the way I'm using a sparkfun USB Host Shield. Maybe this is why there is that 2 second delay when changing patches in the beginning. It's possible that the USB host shield im using may have not initialized yet. I found this bit of code. //Revision 1.2 (DEV-09628) - for sparkfun host shield to work #define MAX_RESET 8 //MAX3421E pin 12 #define MAX_GPX 7 //MAX3421E pin 17 Revision 1.3 (DEV-09947) #define MAX_RESET 7 //MAX3421E pin 12 #define MAX_GPX 8 //MAX3421E pin 17 //initialization needed by sparkfun usb host pinMode(MAX_GPX, INPUT); pinMode(MAX_RESET, OUTPUT); digitalWrite(MAX_RESET, LOW); delay(20); //wait 20ms digitalWrite(MAX_RESET, HIGH); delay(20); //wait 20ms I'll also try that delay fix you posted. What exactly would it address? check USB connection to the Zoom? Although since my usb programming port broke, I can't upload to the board until I replace the USB port on the arduino It would have to wait. Hi Jpadua, Having the same problem you just fixed. Can you please share on what part of the code did you put the initialization? Really appreciate it if you can provide the whole code. Cheers! Hi Kel, are you getting the same response when you first turn on the unit? when you press the footswitch the led lights up after around 2 seconds. i have to press the switch a couple of times before it actually talks to the zoom. i havent actually tried to fix it yet because my usb port broke on the arduino uno board. i found the code while googling. the sparkfun usb host shields needs to be initialized. maybe you can test it out and let me know if it works. on the sketch before initializing the other items add the sparkfun initilization scripts. let me know how it goes jay

I don't see why it should not work. I am a little tied up for some time and might not be able to work on it.

I've seen your video and the lights are responding quick as you press them. If you can share your code, kindly send it to my mail box. Thanks much! Kel

hi kel, your code is fine. mine does the same. but in order for it to work, this is what i do.
i plug external power supply to the arduino board. then plug the usb to the zoom. after zoom powers up press switch 1, wait for Led to light (about 2 seconds). then press again and wait for led to go off. then do this one more time. the third or fourth time it will switch correctly and fast

hi Lawrence, so i finally took it out for a spin on a live gig. i noticed that there is a slight audio cut off when switching patches like a few milliseconds. for instance if im going from clean patch to an overdrive patch on my ms50g you'll hear the audio cut out for a split second before you hear the toggled patch. Any ideas? if you switch manually on the zoom there is no audio drop out. is this the same case with your ms70?

No...it should not. I have used it so many times in church and there is absolutely no gap.

Eh eh... Very proud about my work! I also added 3 switches to run my amp... Not a small foot-controler: I hate pushing many switches at the same time Attachments:

finished basic enclosure no paint yet . still have to finish the wiring used momentary switches for changing presets and used a 3pdt switch to change to bank2. Planning on programming a long press on switch one to access the tuner with mute turned on

Hi Sir Lawrence, I've already uploaded the code you sent to my gizDuino (Arduino clone) and have no trouble so far! just want to ask if there is a set default number of patch you configured in your source code? is it only 42-49? and how can i set the bypass mode in the zoom? having a bit of trouble setting the zoom. im a newbie in zoom ms 70cdr and have a bit of knowledge in Arduino. Great work sir lawrence! Sorry to disturb sir! And thank you for the help! Highly appreciated!

Finally got 'er done! Had to do a hardware mod to get the effect scroll working. The patch display looks all washed out, but it's glorious in person.
